Emerald City FC teams have successful 2013 Pacific Coast Super Cup

Congratulations to the Emerald City FC teams that played in the 2013 Pacific Coast Super Cup!!

The tournament consisted of Washington and Oregon teams playing over 2 weekends. The first weekend were group games in WA at Starfire, Tukwila. The second weekend in Portland, teams played the remainder of their group games. The teams that qualified then entered the playoff portion of the tournament.

Our girls F'95 Green team played a year up and as the tournament progressed, they improved with every game finding their stride in the final, to beat the Westside Timbers 1-0.

ECFC - M94/95, M96, M97 Team Formation Meeting Sun, Feb 24, 7:00pm

Welcome Emerald City FC M94/95, M96 and M97 players and familes for the 2013 – 2014 season

We are excited to welcome all of the high school age boys and their families to our 2013 - 2014 Emerald City FC Family! The following information is critical in the process of forming our teams and preparing for the upcoming year. We will hold our High School Age Boys Team Formation Meeting on Sunday, February 24 from 7:00 - 8:30pm at Arena Sports at Magnuson Park. This is an extremely important meeting for you to attend. Please make every effort to do so as essential registration, legal, scheduling and planning information will be covered and critical documents collected.

TEAM FORMATION MEETING FEBRUARY 24TH, 2013

Arena Sports at Magnuson Park

Sunday, February 24th, 7:00-8:30PM

TO BRING: Check books (a minimum deposit is required to hold a roster spot), medical information (we need to update medical releases and need hard copies current for each year), personal calendars.

CLUB FEES for the season are $2150. There is a $150 discount if your player is registered and pays in full with cash or check by the end of the meeting on February 24th. There is a $100 discount for payment in full with a credit card by the end of the meeting. Bring your check to the team formation meeting and receive a free ECFC scarf! Payment plans and scholarship options are available for qualifying families.

Paperwork for these options will be available at the meeting and a minimum deposit will be required to initiate the scholarship or payment plan process. The minimum deposit to hold a roster spot is $150. ROSTER SPOTS WILL NOT BE HELD OPEN FOR PLAYERS AFTER FEBRUARY 24 WITHOUT A MINIMUM DEPOSIT.

UNIFORMS: Uniforms remain essentially the same for 2013-2014. There will be no new uniform requirements for returning players. A full kit for a new field player is about $400 and orders are done online. Try-on uniforms will be available at the meeting for those who need new sizes.

MEDICAL RELEASES: These need to be filled out and updated annually. Please bring your current medical information. We do keep hard copies so they are available during travel and emergencies.

CONCUSSION FORMS: These are signed electronically at the time of registration but we have tournament registration situations where hard copies are needed. For that reason we will ask parents and players to sign a hard copy on Sunday so we don’t need to bother you again. This is a state law and we must be in compliance with all medical and concussion paperwork.

VOLUNTEERS: We are a non-profit 501c3 organization run mostly by you, our member volunteers. We find that the more team families participate in the club, the more of a club community we are able to develop. Our goal is to have every family involved on some level. IF you were a volunteer for one of our teams last year and you would like to change your role please arrange a switch with your coach before the meeting so that he can come with an updated list of available roles.

KORRIO AND COMMUNICATIONS: Once your player is registered and club fees paid, Amy Wakeman (club accounts) will put your player on our roster. Once that is done, please log in using your parent name (same name used at registration) and your password used at registration. Check your profile for player accuracy and edit as needed. Remember to update your communication preferences—text, email, voice mail, etc. You will have different options for routine messages versus alerts to last minute changes.

OTHER COMMUNICATION PLATFORMS: Teams may have their own preferred method of coordinating scheduling and communication. Each of your coaches will have details about your team communication platform at the meeting.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP: ALL of our high school age players will be provided with free access to SportsWorx, a college planning, research and communication database tool. This service is provided thanks to a generous grant that Emerald City FC receives each year to help promote continuing education opportunities for all of our members.

Also, Emerald City FC will be providing all of our high school age players with the opportunity to earn, free of charge, a Coaching Diploma through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in March. The course will run on the evenings of Sunday, March 17 and Sunday, March 24 (to avoid conflicts with high school soccer schedules) and will involve 6 hours of classroom and field sessions leading to an official NSCAA Level 2 Coaching Diploma.

Registration for either the SportsWorx Program or the NSCAA Coaching Course willrequire players to be registered with the club and to have paid at least the minimum $150 deposit.

Thank you for your participation, your energy and your enthusiasm for our Emerald City FC! We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, February 24 at the Team Formation Meeting and we are excited for a great 2013 - 2014 year ahead!

Best regards,

Erik Oman, Director of Coaching

The second goal was a cross from Sam Leppo (right mid) to Tyler Bianchetto (left mid) in front of goal. Tyler centered the ball to Gabriel Barret-Jackson.
